Follow your

dreams

I’ve always been a creative person, especially as a kid. I loved drawing and would make my family as cute chibi characters. So, it felt pretty fitting that I gravitated toward graphic design as a young adult.
I started by taking a two-year design course at my local technical college, Pickens Tech (which is amazing!), where I learned the fundamentals of design, from layout and typography to hierarchy and logo design. That’s where I really found my spark for design and decided to continue pursuing it throughout college.

I graduated from Colorado State University in 2024 with my BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Business!

BEING FIRSTGEN

I first got into social media marketing through the First Gen Student Organization in college. While I was there, I designed the Instagram posts and event materials, including campaigns for National First-Gen Day. Being able to use my design skills for a community I was personally part of made the work feel really meaningful to me. It also made me more proud of my first-generation background and showed me how much I enjoyed creating for people and communities I could relate to. That experience has stayed with me and continues to influence the kind of designer I want to be.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

DOING SOMETHING SCARY

Starting my business was scary and intimidating. I didn’t have anyone to guide me through where to start, how to build a business, or what it would really take to turn my creative skills into something of my own. I even had people tell me not to pursue this dream. But deep down, I knew I wanted to use my talent to make a difference in my community and help others bring their visions to life.

Espin Design Co. officially began in 2025, and my first year was filled with mistakes, challenges, and plenty of learning moments. There were times when I questioned whether I was really made for this and wondered if I had what it took to keep going.

I grew up watching my parents work incredibly hard and do whatever it took to build a life for our family. They left behind everything they knew in Mexico and came here, to a new country, learning a new language, adapting to a new society, and figuring things out along the way. Even when things were unfamiliar or difficult, they persevered. They always found a way around obstacles, and they taught me that when there isn’t a clear path forward, you find another way.

That’s what I’ve tried to do with Espin Design Co. When I didn’t know what to do next, I figured it out. When something didn’t work, I found another way. And when I felt like giving up, I kept pushing.

Since then, I’ve worked hard to build a business I’m genuinely proud of one that reflects my creativity, my values, and my belief in the communities I serve. I’m learning to stand firmly in what I believe in, even when my path looks different or takes longer than someone else’s.

I may not have had a roadmap when I started, but I’m creating my own along the way. And I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

One year later, my passion for helping my community of first-generation and culture-driven business owners remains strong. I am dedicated to guiding them through vibrant and strategic branding, empowering them to create the brands of their dreams.
